Additional Grant Funding In Canada For Daycares!
In a certain area in Canada $5 Million Dollars has been invested to make child care more affordable for hundreds of low-income families.
For one single mother the funding means that the monthly bill for her three-year-old son will decrease.
The $5 million translates into 400 new child-care subsidies, a new grant for child-care providers for staff salaries and benefits, professional growth, general operating expenses and the elimination of a fee for families, saving those with subsidies up to $1 a day.
The 400 subsidies are available to qualifying families. That brings the total number of subsidies created to 1,100.
The newly announced 400 new subsidized spaces can be used for for-profit as well as not-for-profit centers. The grant process for the child-care providers has also been simplified.
