Grants For Child Care StartUps!

The Department of Social Services provides grants for the start-up of new or expansion of existing child care facilities. These funds, awarded through a competitive application process, primarily focus on programs serving children age birth to three. A new Request for Application for these competitive funds was released to the public for application on March 30, 2007, and the deadline has already passed for submitting an application for these funds. We anticipate a release date of late March 2008 for the new Request for Application. Our website is accessible online. How Does A $500 Grant To Start Your Business Sound?

I'll let you decide! Do you consider the program mentioned below a legitimate grant program? Would you be interested in applying for this program? I only ask because when I see that a funding program requires an applicant to pay a fee - I really do not consider it a grant program!

A woman's non-profit, private organization has a funding program which gives business grants to women who have been dreaming of starting their own business! This funding program is also open to those women who have already started their own business but are seeking more funding to grow their business!

One of the past grant recipients won a $500 grant to start their own crafint business!

In order to apply you must:

  • be a woman a U.S. resident over the age of 18

  • have made at least a $15 donation/application fee to this organization

Each business grant is awarded on the quality of the business plan and application materials. Because the grants do not have to be repaid, your credit history is not taken into consideration.

The grants are awarded on the quality of your business plan, not your credit rating.

"I Am Trying To Find Grant Funding For My Daycare"

"I am a new daycare and I am trying to find grants to help me and my partners improve our daycare center. We currently are looking for grants that will help us purchase toys and play equipment for our children. Can you help us?

Thank you for your help.
"

As I have mentioned many times before there are many grant programs available for daycare centers, both non-profit and for-profit.

I suggest that you take a look at both my blog at

http://grantbasics101.blogspot.com/

and my daycare-related grants page at:

http://grantbasics101.bravehost.com/daycare.htm

One of my most recent daycare-related clients received over 10 pages of information from me about available grant programs for their for-profit daycare!

If you knew the number of grant programs that your daycare could possibly be eligible for it would really astound and amaze you!

Christian Daycare Center Ready To Proceed With A New Building Facility!

Chosen from only 3 applications that were submitted, a christian day care center has received approval from their local city council to start a new daycare facility! The daycare is ready, able and willing to build the facility and purchase the land all because they have grants and they are ready to go! With the help of grants and a loan, the daycare plans to spend $2.1 million to get the facility built and operating. That includes $305,000 paid to their local government to purchase the city-owned lot.

Another daycare facility applicant (that wasn't approved) wanted the city to carry the loan costs and lease the property too them and the city council felt that that wasn't a viable solution.

The city also has a grant program relating to 1-acre lots and another grant program for equipment purchases.

There was concern that there could be a church-state conflict caused by the city doing business with a Christian-centered operation. But the city's attorney said that there is not a problem because the daycare is open to all children, regardless of their family’s religious affiliation.

Welcome!

Welcome to my latest blog called Grant Basics 101 - Daycare!

I decided to start this blog because the information on my Grant Basics 101 - Daycare website will soon be no more! Why? Because I am an AOL member and as of the end of this month AOL is discontinuing all of its hometown, ftp and AOL member websites! So I decided to move all of the information that I have on those pages to a new blog - this one!

I do grant research and I started the website to show that there are indeed grant programs for for-profit daycare businesses. The last daycare-related client that I had received over 10 pages of grant information about grant programs that their for-profit daycare was eligible for!

So if you still think that there are no grants for for-profit (or any other kind of )daycare businesses then I suggest that you check back at this blog more often!
